Pick a Game Privacy Policy

Pick a Game ("we", "the app") is provided free of charge. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.
What we collect
- Account info: email address, display name, optional profile photo.
- Preferences: city, preferred sports.
- Location: approximate location (city level) is used only to recommend nearby games. We do not track or store precise coordinates after the recommendation is delivered.
- Activity: games you create, RSVP to, attend, and rate.
- Device tokens: for delivering push notifications.
What we do NOT collect
- Payment information (the app is free for organizers and players; we never charge users).
- Continuous location tracking.
- Contacts, photos, microphone, or camera content (other than a profile photo you choose to upload).
- Advertising IDs (IDFA / AAID). We do not use third-party ad networks.
Advertising
Pick a Game displays native sponsored cards in the home feed from local sports-related businesses (physiotherapy clinics, gyms, sports stores, etc.). These ads are sold directly by Pick a Game — we do not use Google AdMob, Meta Audience Network, or any other third-party ad network.How targeting works:
- Ads are matched only by your city and your chosen sport preferences.
- Your name, email, location coordinates, age, gender, device ID, contacts, and game history are never shared with advertisers.
- Advertisers receive only aggregated weekly counts (total impressions, total clicks, CTR per campaign).
Every ad is clearly labelled "Sponsored" and visually distinguished from real game listings.
How we use your data
- Recommend games near you.
- Send reminders about games you've joined.
- Let organizers see who has RSVP'd to their game.
- Compute reputation scores from public thumbs-up/down ratings.
Data sharing
We do not sell your data. We do not share data with advertisers. We share data only with:- Firebase / Google Cloud: infrastructure provider that hosts the database and sends push notifications.
- Apple / Google: to deliver push notifications.
Your rights
- Edit or delete your profile at any time from the Profile screen.
- Request a full data export or account deletion by emailing [email protected].
